Irene Baird
Honourary Member
Irene, born and trained in Scotland, has been honored for over 50 years of teaching in Winnipeg. She was Director of the Irene Baird School of Highland Dancing.
Helen Christie
Honourary Member
Helen was inducted as an Honorary Member in 2005. Her relationship with the MHDA began when she and her daughter Tara joined in the 1980/81 season.

Donna Cram
Honourary Member
Donna is very worthy of this honour, that was bestowed in 2006, due to her significant contributions to Highland Dance as a dancer, teacher, judge and builder of the sport. During her long career as a dancer, Donna was one of most successful Manitoba highland dancers.
Jim Court

Beth Gibbon
Honourary Member
Beth was remembered and inducted as Honorary Member in 2011. A member of MHDA since 1966, Beth was president of the association from 1973-1975.
Judith Hamilton
Honourary Member
Judy was inducted as an Honorary Member in 2012. She has 5 children who were all dancers – Jenifer, Tara, Andrea, Duncan and George. All of her children danced for years and went on to achieve various levels of teaching accreditations, many of whom, herself included still support the MHDA.

Stan Jackson
Honourary Member
Mr. Jackson received the title of honorary member in 2007 for his long-time support of highland dancing – not as a dancer or having a family member who danced, but for the art itself.
Deloree McCallum
Honourary Member
Deloree was inducted as an Honorary Member in 2013. She was a member of MHDA for over 25 years and continues to support Highland Dancing. She took on the role of President in 1995 till 1997 and saw the organization into the beginning of its 50th Anniversary year serving on the Anniversary Committee.

Joyce McCombe
Honourary Member
Joyce was remembered and inducted as Honorary Member in 2011. Joyce’s involvement with MHDA started in the mid-1960’s. She volunteered in many ways at a variety of competitions and events, often being the Master of Ceremony.
Myrna-Lou McGregor
Honourary Member
Myrna-Lou was inducted as an Honorary Member in 1984 for her extensive contributions to the MHDA that began in 1962.

Agnes Rea
Honourary Member
Agnes joined MHDA in 1972 along with her daughters Kathy and Janice. She has served in many capacities since that time including competition secretary (1982-1986), and President (1988-1990).

Susanne was inducted in 2016 after co-chairing SDCCS 2004 & SDCCS 2016.

Lynn Stephen

Lynn began dancing at an early age in Highland, Tap, and Irish and was privileged to have excellent instruction from Betty Tait, Maureen Gardner, Marilyn Peabody, and Sam McConnell. Lynn and her family became M.H.D.A. members in 1957. READ MORE >>
Marlene Treichel

Honourary Member Marlene Stephen (Treichel) loved everything highland and was an amazing supporter of dancing and piping. She was the President of the Manitoba Highland Dancers’ Association in earlier years.

Was inducted in 2017 for his dedication to providing quality piping for MHDA competitions and performances for many years.
